Preston Pharmacy - Scope of Services

Dispensing System: Our blister card dispensing system is simple, convenient and accurate. Coupled with our computer system we can guarantee that you get the medications you need, when you need them.

Comprehensive Consulting: Our consultants utilize their individual talents and the integrated dispensing technology to develop a network of information essential to providing service that is superior in the industry. Through the combined efforts of our internal staff and team of consultants in the field, we make recommendations for therapeutically equivalent, less costly medications. Furthermore, our consultant pharmacist provides an initial consult to all new residents, as well as any resident that experiences a significant change in condition, within four business days to ensure compliance with the new State Operations Manual regulations. Additionally our consultants will provide educational programs as deemed appropriate for the facility.

Emergency Medication Supply We provide completely stocked emergency kits that are compliant with all federal and state regulations and will compliment the compliance with the new State Operations Manual with respect to timeliness of medications.

Medical Records: We offer a complete package of forms designed specifically for long term care facilities, assisted living facilities and specialty care facilities. Our standard forms include medication administration records, treatment sheets and physician order sheets. We can also prepare a variety of other unique reports that are important to other areas of patient care, for example, Dietary, Antibiotic, Psychoactive Drugs, etc.

Electronic Facsimile (Paperless Fax): Preston Pharmacy is currently utilizing the state of the art paperless faxing to provide much improved response to your information needs with respect to physician orders, deliveries, medical record orders, etc. This service is also provided at no cost to the facility.

Pharmacy Billing: Preston Pharmacy has a team of dedicated professionals that understand the unique situations that are presented by Medicare Part D plans, as well as all of the other traditional insurance and private billing functions. Preston Pharmacy also accepts credit cards as a method of payment. Preston Pharmacy's team of billing specialists are located right here in our facility in Kansas to provide the needed support to ensure accurate billing and claims management. Preston Pharmacy prides itself on communication with facility's staff and families about potential non-covered medications and the successful resolution of those items.

Deliver Service: Preston Pharmacy employs our own delivery drivers to provide the highest level of service that you should expect. We make routine daily deliveries to your facility six days a week and also provide 24 hour, 7 day per week emergency deliveries as needed, all at no cost to the facility. Deliveries are made to the facility in a locked tote and the controlled substances are packaged and manifested separately.

Equipment Provided: Medication Carts, Treatment Carts, Facsimile Machines and Pill Crushers are provided at no additional cost to the facility.

Reference Manuals: Preston Pharmacy will provide the Nurse's Drug Handbook for each of the nurse's stations, as well as a Pharmacy Policy and Procedure that can be tailored to your individual facility needs.

Electronic MARS: Preston Pharmacy can provide you with Electronic Mars. This system is integrated with our specialized dispensing system and provides many features and benefits to increase efficiency and patient safety while ensuring compliance in all aspects of the medication administration process. Preston Pharmacy has dedicated professionals to support you and this system. We will provide all the specific information about this system upon your request.

WebConnect: Preston Pharmacy offers an interface from the facility to our pharmacy dispensing system that will enable a facility to order new or refill medications, print med sheets, update patient information, track deliveries, print forms and check food and drug interactions. All of these features will expedite medication delivery thereby improving patient care.
